Daniel E. Lynch
is an attorney specializing in workers' compensation, motor vehicle liability, premises liability, and other liability claims. His liability practice includes significant experience with trials, case evaluations, settlement negotiations, and mediations.

John T. Cornett, Jr.
is an attorney specializing in workers' compensation. He is licensed to practice before all state courts as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Laura W. Hays
is an attorney specializing in liability defense with an emphasis in premises liability, auto liability, and E&O liability.  She is a member of the Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Arizona bars along with the U.S. District Courts of Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Tenley Carroll Seli

DANIEL E. LYNCH graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law, Richmond, Virginia in 1987, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Client Counseling and Negotiations Board. Upon graduation, Dan completed a clerkship with the Supreme Court of Virginia as a member of the Chief Staff Attorney's office. He is a 1984 graduate of James Madison University. Dan is AV Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell."DANIEL E. Dan's practice consists primarily of the defense of workers' compensation claims, motor vehicle liability claims, premises liability claims, and other liability matters. Dan has defended more than 1000 claims before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, and he has defended more than 250 liability cases. Dan’s litigation practice includes significant experience with jury trials, bench trials, hearings, appeals, and mediations. Additionally, Dan served on the faculties of the 2014 Virginia CLE Best Practices for Workers’ Compensation Attorneys seminar; 2013 SES A Practical Guide to Workers' Compensation seminar; 2012 NBI Advanced Workers’ Compensation  seminar; 2011 SES Advanced Workers' Compensation seminar; the 2008 Virginia CLE Best Practices for Workers’ Compensation Attorneys  seminar; the 2006 NBI Workers’ Compensation Case Preparation Techniques seminar; the 1995 - 2005 NBI Workers' Compensation in Virginia seminars; and the 2003 NBI Workers’ Compensation Hearings in Virginia:  Techniques and Strategies seminar, and he has been a frequent lecturer on workers’ compensation topics for the Council on Education in Management, among other organizations. He is a member of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court.

Additionally, Dan authored the articles on developments in Virginia workers' compensation law in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 Annual Survey of Virginia Law issues of the University of Richmond Law Review. Also, he was included in Virginia Super Lawyers in workers’ compensation for the years 2008-2009, and 2012-2014. Dan is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in Virginia and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also a member of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, the Virginia Bar Association, and the Richmond Bar Association (Member, Board of Directors, 2007-2011; 2012-2016).

JOHN T. CORNETT, JR. graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1989 and received his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1992. While in law school, he worked at the Commonwealth Attorney's Office for Henrico County. JOHN T. CORNETT, JR. graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1989 and received his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1992.  While in law school, he worked at the Commonwealth Attorney's Office for Henrico County, where he prosecuted numerous criminal offenses. 

John's areas of practice have included bankruptcy law, creditor's rights, criminal law and domestic relations.  He has practiced primarily in the area of workers' compensation law since 1995, and has handled hundreds of cases before the Workers’ Compensation Commission.  He has drafted and filed dozens of briefs with the Virginia Court of Appeals.  John is a member of the Richmond Bar Association and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys.  He is a member of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court. John served on the faculty of the 2014 NBI Advanced Workers’ Compensation seminar; and the 2012 NBI Handling the Workers’ Compensation Case from Start to Finish seminar. 

John is licensed to practice before all state courts as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Supreme Court.

John is very active in his Church, having sat on the Parish counsel and various committees. He is a Eucharistic Minister and has taught religious education to high school students for many years.

Laura W. HaysLAURA W. HAYS graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1987. She received her undergraduate degree from The Penn State University in 1984. She recently earned a Masters of Arts in Writing from National University.

Prior to moving to Virginia, Laura worked for the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Nationwide Insurance Company and Apple Vacations as in-house counsel. In these positions, she tried to verdict numerous jury trials, hundreds of arbitrations and argued cases before the Appellate Courts in Pennsylvania. Several of her cases established favorable case law for the insurance companies regarding the Limited Tort Option which was enacted in Pennsylvania while she was working for Nationwide Insurance Company.

Laura lived in Arizona where she became a member of the Arizona bar and the Ninth Circuit Court. While living in Arizona, Laura worked for Hartford Insurance Company handling insurance defense cases, which included product liability, automobile accidents, slip and falls and worker’s compensation claims. At Hartford, she successfully argued and created new case law that gave her client immunity, which dismissed it from a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

Laura moved to Virginia in 2005 where she became a member of all state and federal courts in Virginia. She recently worked for Nationwide Insurance Company handling insurance defense cases and worker’s compensation claims. While at Nationwide, she tried to verdict several jury trials, handled arbitrations, attended mediations and conducted case evaluations.

Laura is a member of the Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Arizona bars along with the U.S. District Courts of Virginia and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Writer’s Program. She has been approved and appointed to act as a Guardian ad Litem for Children for all courts in Virginia.

When not practicing law, Laura has enjoyed coaching high school field hockey and lacrosse. Laura lives with her husband on a farm South of Richmond and enjoys gardening, traveling, painting, and playing tennis.

TENLEY CARROLL SELI graduated from Providence College in 1991 where she received her undergraduate degree in humanities with a minor in political science. She received her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1995 where she was President of the Women Law Students Association and treasurer of the Student Chapter of the American Bar Association. She started her own practice following law school focusing on litigation and general civil work. Tenley went on to practice in a boutique law firm specializing in workers’ compensation and followed that with founding a new firm with a partner where she again focused on workers’ compensation defense before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission as well as appellate work before the Court of Appeals of Virginia. Tenley is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, American Bar Association, and a member of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court.
